Who had a worse game last night, the Atlanta Hawks or the refs?
I think I’m going to have to choose the latter. Wendell Carter Jr. had his poorest performance of the season last night, recording only two points and two rebounds in 13 minutes of action … but don’t blame him.
The big man fouled out at the 10:46 mark of the 4th quarter thanks to questionable foul calls galore!
It felt like the refs had it out for him or something, just check it out:

Okay, I can maybe understand calling three of those, but even that’s being generous. Carter Jr. does get tangled up with Cam Reddish on the first foul call, and he does kind of use his elbow to push off underneath the basket on the third. Then, I suppose, the shooting foul is a landing-zone issue, but, long story short, these are all crappy calls.
I know every game has its fair share of odd-ball foul calls, but practically all of them against the same player? Come on, now. At one point, Carter Jr. could be seen just kind of laughing it off, so I give him major props for taking it in stride. If that were me, I’d be getting T’d up by the fourth call FOR SURE. Draymond Green style.
Whatever, at the end of the day, the Bulls won. Definitely think Wendell should dunk on the refs next time to show them who’s boss though.
