Huh, so this is what it feels like to be a Chicago Bulls opponent?
If the Washington Wizards goal was to do their best impression of the Bulls tonight, I think they deserve a basketball Oscar. With a little more than 8 minutes to go in the game, the Wizards led by 18 points. Fast forward to .5 seconds left on the clock, and Zach LaVine was heading to the free throw line to tie the game and send it into overtime.
It was free basketball none of asked for, but maybe free basketball we deserved?
For one night, we got to see a team other than the Bulls completely embarrass themselves, and if we’re being honest, that’s very refreshing.
Anyway, in overtime, Zach LaVine continued a practically perfect clutch performance. I’ve been one of the first out there to criticize his poor decision-making, but tonight he truly performed like a winning player. And best of all, he capped it all of with a smart assist on what would be the Bulls game-winning basket with 9.1 seconds to go.

Mmm, that’s a spicy basketball.
For once, we can look down at the stat sheet and see a strong performance from both Lauri Markkanen (31 points) and Zach LaVine (24 points). Even though tonight took some late-game heroics, typically if those two play well, this team can actually pull off a win.
Also, shoutout to Tomas Satoransky, who had 17 points against his former team. If you were watching the broadcast, maybe you saw an awesome shot of Sato’s diabolical smile before the ball was tipped-off to start OT. He looked ready to take down the Wizards, and he did exactly that with two HUGE 3-pointers in extra time.
Yes, it’s the freaking Wizards.
Yes, the team played like crap through most of the game.
Yes, this game means nothing in the long run.
But – for one night – I’m simply going to sit back, sip a beer, and enjoy a Bulls comeback victory.
More tomorrow!
