Hello, darkness my old friend …
With tonight’s release of the reserve selections (voted on by NBA coaches), the 2020 NBA All-Star Game rosters have been finalized. The Chicago Bulls’ Zach LaVine didn’t make the cut.
As I’ve expressed numerous times before, I didn’t quite think LaVine had a true shot at earning the nod, so this isn’t a huge surprise. His numbers might have been good enough, but so were those selected ahead of him. Also, as we talked about earlier today, winning is an All-Star’s best friend, and each player selected as a reserve in the East sits with a winning record.
Here’s a look at your 2020 All-Stars:

Technically, LaVine still has a shot at making the team if there happens to be an injury. If a player is unable to participate, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is allowed one injury replacement. Unless that happens though, the All-Star game hosted in Chicago will have no Bulls’ participants.
Oh, how far this franchise has fallen.
Yes, I feel bad for LaVine because that guy works his butt off.
But the reason this actually sucks is that the All-Star game is back in Chicago, and the Bulls will not have a representative. Just another reminder of how far this team has fallen. Ugh.

Anyway, time for the dunk contest, Zach.
