Fortunately, the fan-favorite broadcaster and analyst is feeling symptom-free now and sounds as though she’s doing just fine. Burke didn’t receive her positive test results until earlier this week on Wednesday, but since then has pretty much gotten over the bug.
She told Wojnarowski that her first symptoms appeared on March 11th while working the Mavericks-Nuggets broadcast, which was also the same night the league announced its suspension. Burke’s head was pounding and she felt incredibly tired, so instead of continuing her normal travel routine, she asked for some time off. While she seemed to have a couple of extra-tried days, Burke’s journey with the virus didn’t sound too extreme, but she also clearly took the necessary precautions to self-quarantine and properly social distance.
I highly recommend giving the short podcast a listen because hearing Burke’s story is reassuring yet very informative. In addition, Wojnarowski and her talk about the impact this could have on how even broadcasters interact with fans and co-workers moving forward.
At the end of the day, I’m just happy to hear Burke is doing fine, and I’m glad she took the time to share her perspective!
