There were any number of reasons why the Bulls new front office needed to fire Jim Boylen.
From his asinine commentary, limited explanations, late-game timeouts when no one wanted them … lack of timeouts when his players were hurt, antiquated approach to effectively implementing advanced analytics, to a blatantly poor relationship with most of his most important players, Jim Boylen was not the right man for the job – and even if all of that weren’t true, the awful win/loss record was reason enough for Arturas Karnisovas to want a fresh start.
All of that we knew and repeated almost daily. What we didn’t know, however, was some off-the-court behavior the Bulls considered “detrimental to the organization.”
And that includes, it seems … some issues with the team chef:
According to the source, the Boylen file with human resources wasn't the greatest, including a verbal run-in with a team chef.

Listen, we couldn’t possibly know what exactly went down between Boylen and the team chef, but whatever happened was a big enough incident that it was FILED WITH HUMAN RESOURCES. I think that’s the sort of outcome that says a lot without saying much at all. And, indeed, this is one of those things that can tell you a lot about a person. Again, not that we needed it.
As for my reaction, I’m sorry if it was in … bad taste:
Boylen called a timeout on his omelet when it was already being plated. https://t.co/fNx3raKBS1
