I made some kickass lasagna last night – not to brag. I have a huge urge to eat it for lunch today, but I told the girlfriend we’d save the leftovers for dinner. This is a decision I regret.
• How long has it been since Bulls fans could feel this comfortably optimistic? Now that a coaching search is officially underway, I can see far more pros than cons in this organization’s future. Sure, we still have an ownership group that knows – perfectly – how to provoke worry, but for the first time in the Reinsdorf era, we have a front office from the outside. I continue to think about how important it is that Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley – who have come from two recently successful organizations – are the two to take over this team. Additionally, new hires JJ Polk and Pat Connelly can offer insight from experience elsewhere in the league. A new athletic trainer and head coach will be able to do the same. The Bulls have cast themselves a wide net, and it’ll offer a wide variety of perspectives.
• Dan Bernstein and The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry touched on this topic earlier today on 670 The Score, and it’s arguably one of the most encouraging parts of this front office overhaul. Karnisovas and Eversley will be able to pick and choose from best practices across the league. An extensive coaching search isn’t only going to allow them to find the right person to lead, but provide a handful of ideas on how to best build this team. It’s like making a big ole pot of Chili – you just got a throw a bunch of stuff in there to see what tastes the best. Eventually, you’ll figure it out, and that thing will taste pretty damn good.
• Jordan bias aside, those new Space Jam jerseys still stink.

• I guess I kind of like the baby blue and the “Tune Squad” font, but the big orange rings throw me off. Not to mention, the top is never going to align properly with the bottom, and that’s super annoying.
• Bleacher Report made up a trade for every lottery team if they were to land the No. 1 pick. Here’s what they have for the Bulls: “2020 No. 1 overall pick, G/F Zach LaVine, PF Lauri Markkanen to Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons.” I’ll let you comment on that in whatever way you see fit. I’ll rather comment, once again, on the idea of trading the No. 1 overall pick. If I’m the Bulls, I highly consider dangling this pick on the trade market. The 2020 Draft has a very up-in-the-air prospect pool, which means we have no real clue what the value of that pick would be; however, that’s also the reason it might be worth trading it. The team could move a couple of spots down, grabs some assets, and arguably still pick a player whose ceiling isn’t all that higher than a projected top-3 pick. Karnisovas has proven to have a good eye for talent in the past, and if he sees a player projected to go mid-lottery that he likes a lot, I wouldn’t mind seeing him make some moves on draft night.
• Please AK, turn the Bulls into a destination where players can come to find their niche.
TLC was brutal to watch with the Bulls. Totally different dude with the Nets splashing catch and shoot Js with ease and playing mostly under control from what I’ve seen.

• Coby White playing every single game of his rookie season – albeit shortened – should prove beneficial to his development.
Raptors 905 alum Justin Anderson yaps a bit with the guy everyone thought would spend tons of time in G League this year, Terence Davis. Instead Davis and Coby White only rookies to play in every game.

• Good thread:
I can appreciate @SherwoodStrauss attempt to nail why ratings are down, but I think it has less to do with social justice issues and hipocrisy around China than about the core demographic and their behaviors around media changing.
