The Chicago Bulls will not be one of the nationally broadcasted games on opening night or Christmas Day. I know, I’m just as shocked as you!!
Instead, the NBA will turn to its superstars, beginning with a Warriors-Nets and Lakers-Clippers matchup on December 22nd.

The Warriors trip to Brooklyn will not only mark Steph Curry’s first time playing with his old teammate since he decided to leave the organization, but it will also be NBA fans first time seeing Durant in a Brooklyn Nets’ uniform. The NBA superstar missed the entire 2019-20 season due to his ruptured Achilles, and his return to the court is arguably the most anticipated storyline of the new season. Not to mention, it has already propelled Brooklyn into the contender conversation.
Meanwhile, the reigning NBA champs will battle one of the bubble’s biggest disappointments. The Clippers faced a second-round exit after plenty of scrutiny. The offseason saw the organization move on from long-time head coach Doc Rivers, and former-assistant coach Tyronn Lue now sits in the big boy sit. Recent reports haven’t necessarily been kind to the Clippers’ franchise. According to The Athletic, there has been some tension throughout the organization regarding the preferential treatment to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Drama can surface all it wants, but nothing will change the fact that this team is still near the top of the totem pole as long as their two stars are on the roster.
Christmas Day will also see all four teams play some intense matchups. The Warriors will take on the 2x MVP in Milwaukee, and the Lakers will face Luka Doncic at home.

I think it’s important to note that the schedule is always subject to change due to the ongoing pandemic. However, if things stay the same right now, we’re going to have a really awesome first week of basketball.
Now … release the Bulls schedule!
