I know it is not fair to get mad about flukey injuries, but it’s also so hard not to be so frustrated with the issues Carter, Jr. (and the Bulls, in general) has had to start his career. He played only 44 games in his first season due to a broken finger, 34 games (out of 65) in his second season due to an ankle sprain, and he will now miss significant time with a … severe bruise?
Chicago will now have to rely on Daniel Gafford to protect the rim over the next few weeks, which has gone anything but well in Carter, Jr.’s first three games missed. Additionally, expect a lot of small ball from here on out as Lauri Markkanen and Thaddeus Young man in the middle.
Ugh. What a bummer. More later.
This Wendell news SUCKS.
Right when the org is finally supposed to get some real eyes on their young talent AND Carter begins to find his groove … another significant injury. I honestly don't know what this does for the FO's plans.
