Zach LaVine is an All-Star!
Let me write that sentence again in all caps for dramatic effect … ZACH LAVINE IS AN ALL-STAR.
The Bulls guard found out around the same time we all did on Tuesday, and when he thought it was time to sit down with the media for some banter, the Bulls organization gave him one hell of a heartwarming and adorable surprise.
His parents, sister, fiance, and close friends (including familiar faces Jamal Crawford and Thaddeus Young) all popped on what LaVine thought was your average media Zoom call.

“Y’all got me sweating on here, man!” Lol, I love it.
Zach LaVine is a pretty stoic dude. He has been dealt a pretty crappy hand over the course of his NBA career – ACL injury and all – but he has always been nothing but professional and collected in the public eye. While I’m sure he caught on to the fact that this little prank was being recorded for all to see, it was nice to see him look genuinely surprised and a tad emotional.
The best moment of the video, though, may have actually been brought to us by Thaddeus Young. When the two shared their little moment, Young let us in on a little goal the two of them shared: “Hey man, you already know. I told you when I signed here, look, there are two things we got to do: Make it to the playoffs and get you being an All-Star. We halfway through.”
If they can accomplish one, I feel pretty good about their chances to accomplish the other!
