The rumors say the Chicago Bulls and Otto Porter could potentially seek a buyout, Porter says not so much.
According to Bulls veteran forward, there have been absolutely zero talks about him and the team mutually agreeing to part ways, which became an ongoing discussion in the Bulls universe after The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported it as a possibility earlier this week.
Otto Porter Jr. says his focus is on the #Bulls this season, not a contract buyout: "I have no idea, to be honest with you (where that came from) … I've just been in the gym every day."
His agent hasn't informed him of anything along those lines, Porter adds.

Otto Porter Jr. when asked how crucial 2nd half is for him personally as his contract expires at season's end: "My focus is getting back out there to help the team."

All things considered, this was kind of what we expected. The idea of him reaching a buyout with the organization always felt like something that could be wishful thinking by other organizations. Porter isn’t about to willingly give up any of his $28.5 million owed this season, and the Bulls aren’t also going to get rid of a player who – when healthy – has proven to be rather productive.
The idea of a trade, on the other hand, does feel like it’s still on the table. I’m sure Porter would not speak much to that concept, but his play might be what does the talking for the Bulls over the next few weeks. If teams were hoping for a potential buyout, then it’s safe to assume there could be potential suitors come March 25th, especially if Porter plays well in his return to the court, which could happen as soon as tomorrow.
