What to Watch For
• I mean … just, like, better basketball, right? This team played one of its worst games of the season last night, and this yet another opportunity to show they can bounceback strong. The Miami Heat will be down one of their most important players in Bam Adebayo, so the Bulls have an opportunity to rewrite the beginning of this second-half by properly taking advantage of the opposing team’s deficiencies. The Heat are all around a very solid defensive team (allow the least points per game in the paint), but the Bulls still need to try to exploit that matchup down low. I want to see both Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. show more urgency to get to the rim.
• Not many teams turn the ball over as much as the Bulls (2nd-most per game), but the Miami Heat are pretty damn close (3rd-most). The Bulls ball pressure last night was all kinds of weak as the first line of defense continually let the 76ers guards drive to the basket. If the Bulls can bring some better energy on that end of the floor and play with active hands, they should be able to force th Heat offense into some sloppy mistakes.
• Jimmy Butler vs. Zach LaVine should be a good time.
• Was last night’s effort by the reserves just a fluke? Only Thaddeus Young scored in double-digits and the unit as a whole struggles to offer the team the same kind of stabilizing boost we are used to. I’ll be looking at guys like Tomas Satornasky and Garrett Temple to try to right the ship.
