One day after being ruled out due to NBA Protocols, Coby White has been upgraded to “probable” for tomorrow night.
According to the team, the second-year guard missed Sunday’s game due to NBA Protocols, and head coach Billy Donovan told reporters that they would have to look further into a result White received on one of his latest tests. The hope appeared to be that it was nothing more than a false positive, and I think it’s fair to say White’s status for tomorrow alludes to that being the case.
White has struggled a bit as of late to find his footing in the Bulls’ new rotation, but there is no doubt the team is in a better place when he is available off the bench. White also had himself a rather strong game the last time Chicago and Indiana matched up with 19 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and a +16, so maybe he can channel some of that success to help the Bulls string together a winning streak.
Garrett Temple and Daniel Theis are out vs. Pacers. Coby White is listed as probable. According to injury report, Theis is not with team.

According to Bulls PR, Theis is not with the team for an excused personal absence. Theis also missed the Bulls’ first game following the trade for what Billy Donovan cited as tending to a family matter. https://t.co/rKRSjzTVns

Meanwhile, according to NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson, Daniel Theis is now listed as out.
The big man is reportedly not with the team, which certainly comes as a pretty big surprise after he appeared in the Bulls last four games with increasing success. However, as Johnson notes, Theis was also away from the team for what would have been his first game after being acquired. The absence was tied to a family matter, so while we can’t say anything for sure, it’s possible the two are related.
Theis clocked his most minutes yet in a Bulls uniform against the Nets yesterday, and he also recorded his first double-digit game as a member of the team. Head coach Billy Donovan has played him more and more alongside Nikola Vucevic to give the Bulls an improved interior presence, and I can’t help think this would have been on the docket for tomorrow’s game against the Sabonis-Turner frontcourt.
Anyway, I hope everything is good on Theis’ end, and I hope he can rejoin the team soon. The Bulls will need him as they hope to begin their real playoff push over these next couple of weeks.
