I’m just … not in the mood.
The Chicago Bulls (22-31, 10th) have the 2nd-worst Net Rating in the 4th quarter, and tonight it showed. The team was outscored 31-16 to close out the game after entering with a four-point advantage. They shot just 6/26 in that stretch and 0/11 from downtown (h/t Jeff Mangurten). Filled with ill-advised deep balls and untimely passes, the whole performance was a clinic on how not to finish a basketball game … something we’ve seen the Bulls do time and again this season.
I got to be honest, when the team made their deadline moves, I thought we might have moved past this. Don’t get me wrong, I knew there would be bumps in the road and the uphill climb wouldn’t be easy, but I didn’t think we’d see the kind of collapses we saw tonight and against Minnesota. I guess I’m a gullible optimist.
Anyway, some “winnable” (emphasis the quotation marks) still rest ahead I guess, so we’ll see what happens and blah blah blah.
