Mayor Lori Lightfoot told reporters on Tuesday that she expects fans to be back in the United Center before “season’s end.”
Exactly which team’s season (Blackhawks or Bulls) she is referring to is unknown. However, the Bulls are scheduled to end their regular season on May 16th while the Blackhawks end about one week sooner on May 10th, so any kind of decision on the matter would have to come very soon.
At a just concluded news conference, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said: "I expect before season's end there will be fans in the United Center."

Only three teams in the NBA have either not welcomed fans back into the arena or do not have future plans in place to do so, with the Chicago Bulls being one. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks are currently the only NHL team not welcoming fans into their arena.
With both teams about to embark on the last stretch of their season, hopefully, we can get a decision on some level of attendance within the next couple of games. After all, both teams only have seven home games left apiece.
