We are still waiting for the Chicago Bulls to give us that pristine jersey swap photo, but DeMar DeRozan says he has officially inked his new deal.
The four-time All-Star announced the move on Twitter with a video of the team’s throwback intro!

Already pulling at the fans’ heartstrings. Smart move, DeMar.
Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes also reported that the sign-and-trade deal for DeRozan has been finalized, and Chicago’s newest roster member will sport No. 11. Throughout his career thus far, DeRozan has always worn No. 10, but the Bulls organization has that number retired in honor of the great Bob Love.

The originally reported deal (via Woj) between the Bulls and Spurs was Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a first-round pick, and two future second-round picks for the right to sign DeMar DeRozan to a three-year $85 million contract. We have no reason right now to believe the final version will appear any different, but you never know until the full details come in. After all, we did see cash considerations added to the Lonzo Ball deal, as well as his final contract number come in lower than expected.
We also learned this week that the Phoenix Suns were interested in Thaddeus Young. Basketball News dot com’s Evan Sidery reported the team is interested in upgrading its frontcourt depth and could be added to make the DeRozan trade a three-team deal. For now, it appears that was not the case.
This official signing for DeRozan felt on the horizon last night when we saw him sitting courtside with Billy Donovan, Arturas Karnisovas, Marc Eversley, and Troy Brown Jr. for the Bulls Summer League game in Las Vegas. Now, all there is left to do is celebrate at the slots!
