Bulls Get Good News as Troy Brown Jr. Exits Health and Safety Protocols (Here is Where the Roster Stands)

Shortly after the Chicago Bulls lost Devon Dotson to Health and Safety Protocols and reportedly signed both Mac McClung and Ersan Ilyasova, Troy Brown Jr. has been given the green light to rejoin the team.

Brown originally became the 9th Bulls player to enter protocols back on December 12th. News that Zach LaVine entered protocols broke on the same day, but the Bulls have already ruled LaVine out until at least after Christmas Day.

While Brown may have struggled to stay in the rotation this season, there is no question his return is good news for Billy Donovan. The Bulls head coach has been forced to get creative recently, relying on talent signed via the hardship exemption as well as the team’s two-way contract players. Brown at least gives Donovan a more familiar face; not to mention, a player much more in tune with the team’s system on both ends of the floor.

Brown has appeared in a total of 18 games this season, and he was leaned on heavily as the team started to see more and more players enter protocols. After Coby White test positive back on December 1st, Brown went on to appear in five-straight games, averaging 21.2 minutes per game with 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds.

What we are left to wonder now is whether or not Brown will get the clearance he needs to play in tomorrow’s game against the Toronto Raptors. A week-long hiatus from the basketball court can do some damage to a player’s conditioning, so he will have to prove to the training staff over the next 24 hours that he is good to go. The Bulls currently have Brown listed as QUESTIONABLE for the contest.

Anyway, with so many additions and so many names moving on and off the injury report, I think it’s a good time to do a roster reset. Here is where things currently stand heading into Wednesday’s game …
