Zach LaVine Climbs the NBA All-Star Voting Ranks in Latest Update

Chicago Bulls

The second voting update for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland has been released, and Bulls fans still have plenty of reason to be excited with DeMar DeRozan firmly atop the guards in the Eastern Conference with nearly three million votes and Zach LaVine moving into the third spot ahead of James Harden.

DeMar DeRozan is up to 2,973,854 votes (an increase of 1.4 million votes in the last seven days) and firmly leading the Eastern Conference guards with the next closest candidate, Trae Young, 1.3 million votes behind him. More good news for Bulls fans, Zach LaVine, saw an increase of 666,528 votes from the first update last week which moved him into the third spot among Eastern Conference guards. LaVine trails Trae Young by 153,730 votes with about a week and a half to go in the fan voting portion of the selection process.

In last week’s voting update, Nikola Vučević held the 10th and final spot in the frontcourt but has since fallen outside of the top ten.

Remember that the starting lineup selection process places 50 percent of the final decisions on the fan voting and the other 50 percent on the votes of players and media members. NBA head coaches will then pick reserves.

We have three 2-for-1 voting days left in the fan voting process (including today):

•   January 13 (TODAY!)
•   January 17
•   January 20

You can vote on social media by using the player’s name with a hashtag (i.e., #DeMarDeRozan) OR the player’s Twitter handle accompanied by the hashtag #NBAAllStar. You can also retweet any tweets with those credentials.

Fan voting ends on January 22, and TNT will reveal the NBA All-Star Game starters, including the two team captains, during TNT NBA Tip-Off on Thursday, Jan. 27.
