The news just keeps getting better and better!
One night after Zach LaVine checked himself out of the game with a reported knee injury, Lonzo Ball has been listed on the latest official injury report. According to the Bulls, Ball is listed as QUESTIONABLE for tonight’s game versus Boston due to left knee soreness.
If you’re keeping track, that means the Bulls will head into this matchup without the following players:
Ball – knee
LaVine – knee (for more on his situation, click here)
Caruso – Health and Safety Protocols
Green – groin
Jones Jr. – knee
Cook – ankle
Williams – wrist
Fortunately, a questionable designation leaves us with some optimism that Ball can play tonight. And, more importantly, it should mean he isn’t dealing with any long-term issue. If Ball were not able to suit up tonight, however, it’s a bit hard not to fear a third-potential blowout loss.
While the Celtics have not played at the same level as the Nets or Warriors, Ball has been the team’s best defender on an already-reeling defense. There is no question he was going to have to play a key role trying to keep the elite wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in check.
UPDATE: Annnnnd he’s out.
Lonzo Ball has been downgraded to out vs. Celtics.
