What to Watch For …
• Yes, I’m terrified of Joel Embiid, but I’m arguably more terrified of Furkan Korkmaz. I know that sounds absurd, but I know what I’m going to get from Emiid on a nightly basis. We know he is an MVP-caliber player who can take over any game at any given point. Korkmaz, on the other hand, is the kind of pesky role player who can be the difference-maker in a close game. We saw him absolutely tear apart the Bulls the last time these two played, dropping 25 points off the bench with a 7-9 performance from downtown. All things considered, with the ability to play inside or out, he is the kind of oversized wing that we’ve seen give this Bulls team trouble time and again. The Bulls might catch a tiny break if he is unable to suit up today.
• While the Chicago Bulls were able to pick up an exciting win against the Pacers without Zach LaVine on Friday, it will be a lot tougher against this 76ers squad. LaVine’s three-level scoring would have been huge when it came to spacing the floor against this 11th-ranked defense. Now, elite wing defender Matisse Thybulle will be able to use his length to try to stick to DeMar DeRozan. On the bright side: I’m not sure anyone can stop Mr. 4th quarter right now:
Since January 17 (10 G), DeMar DeRozan is averaging:
30.2 PTS
6.2 AST

• The Bulls are going to need Javonte Green to continue adding to the box score. He has scored double-digit points in four-straight games, tying his season-high with 16 points on a 7-10 shooting performance against Indiana. Let’s hope he can carry this hot streak into the United Center.
