We’ve got ourselves a pair of potential elimination games on the slate tonight as the Heat and Suns look to wrap up their series.
Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers
Eastern Conference Semi-Finals: Game 6
The Miami Heat reminded the Sixers why they were the top seed in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night when they delivered a 35-point beatdown to take control of the series. The Sixers are now on the brink of elimination tonight. Can they will their way to a Game 7 this weekend, or will the Heat prove to be a class higher than Philly?
My money is on “Playoff Jimmy” and the Heat in this one.
Against Philly, Jimmy Butler leads the Heat in:

Phoenix Suns at Dallas Mavericks
Western Conference Semi-Finals: Game 3
Monty Williams challenged the Suns to ramp up their defensive efforts during a first-quarter timeout after the Mavs offense came out hot again in Game 5. The Suns rose to the challenge and ultimately blew out the Mave to take control of the series. Still, the Suns know as well as anyone that defending Luka DonÄić and the Mavs is no easy feat to repeat. Deandre Ayton told SI’s Rohan Nadkarni that the Mavs will live and die with the three, and Ayton and the Suns are ready for the challenge.
“They will live and die by the three,” Ayton said. “They have great shooters over there, and you just got to have a certain sense of urgency when you’re closing out to them because they can put the ball on the floor as well and have you in a blender, closing out and being late on passes.
The Suns have to stop Luka and the Mavs one more time to punch their ticket to their second straight WCF tonight. Can they do it?
Here’s your pre-game reading, an excellent feature by Rohan Nadkarni with insight from the Suns on what it is like defending one of the greatest scorers in the game:
There is nothing enjoyable about trying to slow down one of the greatest scorers in postseason history.@RohanNadkarni spoke to the @Suns about defending Luka DonÄić https://t.co/RabnzoevB5 pic.twitter.com/n6AwFc2AZU
