With the NBA Draft officially over, the Chicago Bulls have begun filling their Summer League roster.
According to JD Shaw of HoopsRumors, one player joining No. 18-overall pick Dalen Terry for the action in mid-July will be 24-year-old guard Carlik Jones.
Jones went undrafted in 2021 after playing three seasons at Radford and one with Louisville. He’s a six-foot-one scorer who played for both the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets on 10-day contracts last season, appearing in a total of five games.
While not on an NBA roster, Jones showed his worth another NBA bid with an explosive performance in the G-League. The point guard averaged 22.2 points with 6.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 16 regular-season games with the Texas Legends. And he held similar numbers over his 10 games in the G-League showcase.
His time with the Legends included a ridiculous 42-point, 10-assist outing against the Santa Cruz Warriors and a 36-point, 14-assists outing against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Don’t like Jones’ highest fool you, the man can get up for some absolutely electric jams, and he isn’t afraid to invite contact at the rim. As far as sparkplug scorers go, it seems like Jones could have some serious potential, so he should be a fun player to keep an eye on throughout the Bulls’ Summer League stint.
