Caruso Honored in Hometown, NBA World Pays Tribute to Russell, 76ers Tampering, and Other Bulls Bullets

The NBA lost one of the greatest to ever play the game on Sunday morning.

RIP.

  • To no surprise, the NBA world was quick to pay tribute to Russell’s greatness. And I can’t think of a more fitting way to start these bullets than simply sharing some of those messages.

  • As the day goes on, I’m sure only more league figures will honor the 11x champion. Russell, in many ways, should be viewed as the foundation of the successful league we see today. Not only was he the first truly dominant on-court talent, but he fought through seemingly endless adversity to pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive NBA. While days like these are never easy, we know that someone as great as Russell will never be forgotten. The impact he’s left on the world and professional sports transcends time.
  • If you have the time, a look through this thread is lovely. Russell was one funny dude.
  • Alex Caruso traveled back to his hometown in College Station, Texas this weekend for quite the honor. The community recognized the Bulls’ elite defensive stopper for his NBA rise, officially naming the basketball court he grew up on “Alex Caruso Court.” Plenty of family, friends, and fans appeared to be in attendance to see the man himself, and Caruso spoke more about the experience in the cool video shared below:
  • Caruso told BullsTV that he spent countless hours on that court from fourth grade through high school. He also reassured those in attendance that his best basketball days are ahead of him, which I think is something all Bulls fans love to hear. Congrats to AC!
  • The Philadelphia 76ers are officially under investigation for potential tampering. The NBA is looking into early contact with players like PJ Tucker and Danuel House. There is also suspicion that Harden’s decision to leave money on the table this summer could be due to a future contract already being in place, which … yeah … would be super sketchy.
  • I have little doubt that the 76ers will receive a tampering penalty. The PJ Tucker news, in particular, felt pretty darn blatant. Indeed, we could never truly believe the Bulls were in play to sign him because of the fact that Philly was wildly reported as the likely landing spot every step of the way. The bigger question I have right now, though, is whether or not the Knicks are up next. They have to be investigated for the Jalen Brunson thing, right? RIGHT!?
  • Ayo Dosunmu finishing strong!
  • If Ayo Dosunmu’s offensive aggression could take a step forward this season, that would be lovely. Goran Dragic might be in town for point guard insurance, but my guess would be that the Bulls prefer Dosunmu to eat a large portion of the important minutes if Lonzo Ball isn’t ready to go. Dosunmu simply has more knowledge playing alongside this roster, and I also think his combination of on-ball defense and transition skill fits far better with how we know Billy Donovan likes to play.
  • Speaking of Ball, we could have reason to believe he’s making real progress …
  • Is it time for football yet?
  • Trade deadline sadness is on the horizon!
