The creators of NBA 2K23 revealed last month that Michael Jordan would, once again, appear as the game’s cover athlete. But that isn’t the only way they plan to honor the GOAT.
In addition to gracing the cover of the Michael Jordan Edition and Championship Edition of the game, NBA 2K has announced a new Jordan Challenge game mode.
The company described the new feature as a “completely immersive narrative experience.” Users will begin a 15-step journey that will recount a number of Jordan’s most iconic moments. Before playing each event, the game will also feature pre-recorded interviews with former teammates and opponents of the Bulls’ legend. NBA 2K also shared that the gameplay will reflect the broadcast experience of the 80s and 90s.
If you haven’t yet, I strongly recommend watching the trailer for the Jordan Challenge below. You can also read more about what it will entail here. The graphics look remarkably impressive, and I also can’t wait to see guys like Dennis Rodman and Phil Jackson gush about His Airness. I originally wasn’t sure whether or not I’d stay another year on the NBA 2K bandwagon, but there is no question now that I’ll have to give this version a try.
