Before the Bulls tip off training camp in Chicago later this month, Alex Caruso is spending some time overseas.
The defensive-minded guard most recently visited Paris to help promote the league’s return to the country later this year. The Bulls will match up against the Detroit Pistons at Accor Arena on January 19. It will be the NBA’s first game in Europe since 2020 and the 12th game in France since the 1991 season.
The Bulls and NBA have documented Caruso’s journey over social media the past week, and the Bulls just released a mini-highlight reel of his first time in the city of love.
Between stops at some of the main attractions, meeting a bunch of fans, and squeezing in some workouts, it sure seems like Caruso made the most out of his late-summer trip.

NBA France also shared a closer look at how Caruso spent some of his time with fans. During his meet-and-greet, he challenged a couple of locals to an impromptu shooting contest (and lost one of them!?).
As far as picking someone to represent the Chicago Bulls in a foreign land, I think it’s safe to say Caruso was a wise choice. Since arriving in Chicago, he’s been a personable player who expressed nothing short of respect for the organization and its fans. I think it’s more than obvious in these few clips that he fully embraced everything the experience had to offer. And, I got to admit, he already seems to have the language down pat!
Maybe he can help his teammates get around when the Bulls make their way back to Paris this winter!
