Zach LaVine has officially been ruled out for tonight’s contest in San Antonio.
The All-Star came into this meeting with the Spurs as questionable, which came as no surprise considering it’s the frontend of a back-to-back set. The Bulls have alluded to the fact that LaVine will approach at least the first several back-to-backs with caution, and it makes more than enough sense for him to sit out tonight with a meeting against Joel Embiid set for tomorrow.
Alex Caruso will likely enter the starting lineup in his place.

In what shouldn’t come as any kind of surprise, Zach LaVine is questionable for tomorrow’s contest in San Antonio, per the NBA’s Official Injury Report.
The Bulls have made it clear that LaVine’s availability would be evaluated before each back-to-back set. While the idea of him participating down the road hasn’t been completely ruled out, he seems destined to at least sit out one of the two contests over the first handful of back-to-backs this year.
Considering the Spurs are in full tank mode and a meeting with the 76ers at the United Center awaits, I think we agree it makes plenty of sense that LaVine would sit out the front half this time around.
I guess I shouldn’t get ahead of myself, though. While I do completely expect LaVine to ride the bench tomorrow, the injury report still, technically, gives him a 50-50 chance at seeing the floor. We’ll see.
