After missing Saturday’s contest with the 76ers due to a “thoracic contusion,” Ayo Dosunmu took the practice floor on Monday, per multiple reports.
As for Andre Drummond, the backup big man remainder on the sideline due to a shoulder issue.
Fortunately, according to NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson, Donovan did share that Drummond’s absence isn’t expected to be anything long-term. The status of both Drummond and Dosunmu for tomorrow’s meeting with the Nets, however, does remain unclear.
While even having Dosunmu back in the starting lineup should provide a necessary boost for a team trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season, returning both to the rotation would be huge. Drummond has put together an incredibly strong start to the year, helping give Chicago one of the NBA’s best second units. For a Nets team who is averaging the worst rebounding percentage in the league and the 2nd-fewest bench points a night, Drummond’s presence could truly swing the game in the Bulls’ favor.
