The Chicago Bulls’ max player will suit up for tonight’s meeting with Kevin Durant, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Being the front end of a back-to-back set, LaVine entered the day “questionable” on the injury report. However, with the Nets packing a star-studded lineup, I’m not sure anyone is surprised to see the Bulls opt for LaVine’s participation in this nationally broadcasted affair as opposed to tomorrow’s home meeting with Charlotte.
Not joining LaVine on the court tonight will be backup big man Andre Drummond. It will be his second-straight missed game due to a shoulder injury he sustained against the Spurs. Unfortunately, we saw just how harmful his absence can be to the Bulls’ second-unit success, as the 76ers bench outscored the Bulls’ bench 39-24.
As for Ayo Dosunmu, who also missed last Saturday’s contest, he has been listed as “questionable” with a Thoracic contusion. Coby White is also questionable with a quad injury. While the Nets have gotten off to a dysfunctional 2-5 start, there is no question they have enough talent and depth to give a banged-up Bulls team a hard time, so let’s hope both Dosunmu and White are given the green light after shootaround.
