The Chicago Bulls have ruled out both Andre Drummond and Coby White ahead of Friday night’s matchup with the Boston Celtics, per NBA’s latest official injury report.
For White, this will be his third-straight missed game due to a quad contusion, while Drummond will be missing his 4th-straight game with a shoulder injury.
The Bulls have been able to make do without the two rotation players over the past week, winning back-to-back matchups with the Nets and Hornets. However, there is no question the Bulls are a better team when both players are healthy and ready to come off the bench. Chicago’s second unit has been one of the best in the league, and a big reason for that has been Drummond’s rebounding and White’s 3-point shotmaking.
Drummond’s absence from tonight’s meeting with the Celtics could feel particularly costly by the end of the night. Without Robert Williams in the starting lineup, the Celtics have been forced to play small at times, and the Bulls were able to take complete advantage in their first battle on October 24th. Nikola Vucevic swallowed 23 rebounds, while Drummond grabbed 10 off the bench. The Bulls dominated the rebounding department 60-45, which surely played a big role in their 120-102 victory.
