On Thursday morning, the Chicago Bulls announced that 2022 first-rounder Dalen Terry had been assigned to the Windy City Bulls. But I’m here to tell you: Don’t expect him to be there for long.
Experiencing their first three-day break of the season, most players have the day off today, per NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson. However, for a youngster currently outside the Bulls’ rotation, the coaching staff probably viewed this as a good opportunity to get him a little extra practice time. My expectation would be that he simply runs some five-on-five with the G-League roster before being re-assigned to the big leagues later today.
I guess the other outcome could be that he sticks around with the Windy City Bulls until Saturday’s home game against the Iowa Wolves. But my guess is that the plan will be for him to just hang around long enough for a practice session.
Keep in mind that this probably isn’t going to be the last time we see Terry join the Windy City for a handful of hours. After all, the benefit of having the G-League affiliate so close is that out-of-rotation youngsters can keep their feet wet!
