After sitting out the Chicago Bulls’ previous two games, Javonte Green is in line to play on Saturday.
The Chicago Bulls’ versatile role player – who has been dealing with knee soreness – practiced fully with the team this afternoon, per Billy Donovan. The head coach didn’t give the full green light for Green to play tomorrow, but things certainly seem to be trending in that direction.
While the Bulls were able to go 1-1 during Green’s absence, there is no question they will be happy to have him back in the rotation. He’s started the year as one of the team’s top defenders, currently holding a +1.4 estimated defensive plus-minus that ranks in the league’s 91st percentile, per Dunks & Threes. Not to mention, his relentless stamina and high-flying athleticism have made him a cutting threat and transition menace on the other end.
Both skillsets are a big reason why Donovan recently decided to put Green back into the Bulls’ starting lineup. And the expectation should be for Green to return to that spot when the medical staff gives him the thumbs up. Let’s hope that’s later today!
