What to Watch For …
- I don’t care if Butler and Lowry are both in street clothes, I still won’t believe that this Bulls team can win until I see it. Not only did they just lose to a T-Wolves squad without KAT and Gobert, but they also have a tendency to let random Heat role players get hot. The last time these two met it was former Bull Max Strus who dropped 22 points off the bench behind five 3-pointers. Backup big man Dwyane Dedmon also posted an easy 11 points in 13 minutes. The fact of the matter is that this team is talented and disciplined enough to still give the Bulls trouble, and they must come out with their foot on the gas.
- The good news for the Bulls is that DeMar DeRozan cooked this Heat defense on opening night. He scored 37 points and dished 9 assists in the team’s 116-108 win. With several of their better defenders off the floor tonight, there is a real opportunity for him to have a similarly impactful performance this time around.
- Someone please guard Tyler Herro. The energetic youngster has averaged an absurd 32.3 points over his previous three games. And he’s also coming off recent back-to-back performances where he knocked down a combined 19 3-pointers. Yes, you read that right. Considering how poorly this Bulls team tends to guard the arc, there is real potential for Herro to get hot if this defense doesn’t prioritize shutting him down early.
