According to the NBA’s official injury report, both Alex Caruso and Javonte Green have been listed as “questionable” ahead of Friday’s meeting with the 76ers.
All things considered, this feels like a particularly big deal for Caruso, who was forced to leave Wednesday’s win over Brooklyn after accidentally stepping on Ben Simmons’ foot. Caruso clearly twisted his ankle, and he was swiftly checked out of the game after attempting to run it off on the following possession.
Whenever a player is forced to leave the game earlier there is cause for concern, especially when Caruso appeared to be in as much pain as he was. With that said, a “questionable” designation for tomorrow’s battle in Philly seems like good news. I’d say this should suggest that the injury isn’t as severe as we once thought, and this should make us feel at least somewhat confident that he can return in one of the two upcoming back-to-back games.
As for Green, there have been questions about his health as he deals with knee soreness. The Bulls’ versatile forward has missed the past two games after missing five-straight games in December with the same injury. If Chicago feels as if he has a 50/50 shot at playing tomorrow, however, it could imply that his recent soreness isn’t a sign of anything too damaging.
I’ll be crossing my fingers that both get the green light in either tomorrow’s game in Philly or Saturday’s game against the Jazz.
