The Chicago Bulls announced that DeMar DeRozan will not return to Monday night’s game after suffering a quad strain.
DeRozan tripped over Al Horford’s foot in the 3rd quarter versus Boston before staying on the floor for some time. He was eventually able to get to his feet and stay in the game for another minute or so.
However, after checking out, the Bulls’ leading scorer went back to the locker room.
While I want to believe it’s a good thing that DeRozan was initially able to stay in the game, I don’t want to make any assumptions. The fact the Bulls had to rule him out obviously means there is some level of concern, so all we can do now is wait for an update after the game.
With three more games this week – two of which feel very winnable against Washington and Oklahoma City – let’s hope that DeRozan just needs the night off to get right.
