One night after DeMar DeRozan was forced to leave the game early, the Chicago Bulls declared him “questionable” for Wednesday’s battle against the Wizards, per the latest official injury report.
All things considered, this (coupled with DeRozan’s own report after last night’s game) seems to be positive. While we shouldn’t yet expect to see him tomorrow night, it at least appears relatively apparent that this current injury isn’t expected to be significant nor cause him to miss extended time.
The status of Javonte Green, on the other hand, remains a complete mystery. The Chicago Bulls’ versatile forward and key role player has now missed the past five games with a knee issue. This is the same problem that he dealt with in mid-December before he returned for a stretch of three games.
The Bulls know well how long knee issues can drag on. The fact that Green has now experienced two multi-game absences due to this same injury certainly raises concerns, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn’t turn into anything more than something that needs extra time on the bench to heal. After all, he’s a pivotal part of the identity this team tries to establish defensively and in transition.
