Hall of Fame tight end and current co-host of Fox’s Undisputed Shannon Sharpe was at the center of a strange altercation in last night’s Grizzlies-Lakers game.
While seated courtside in Los Angeles, Sharpe got into a shouting match with Memphis’ Dillon Brooks. This sparked Steven Adams to approach him as the halftime buzzer sounded, which drew team personnel to intervene and pull Adams away. Before you knew it, practically the entire Grizzlies team was over by Sharpe and plenty of words were exchanged. Even Ja Morant’s father, Tee, found himself involved.
Here’s the video:
The situation cooled down relatively quickly, and Tee at least told ESPN that it was nothing more than guys talking some trash. Sharpe, however, sounded all kinds of heated when he spoke with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, while Ja and Brooks decided to keep their thoughts to themselves.
I don’t know if this was just Sharpe just trying to put on a show or what, but I find it weird as heck. This ain’t no Spike Lee and Reggie Miller. No one needs Sharpe making this much noise mid-game, and the Grizzlies sure don’t need to retaliate. How strange.
