In addition to DeMar DeRozan, the Chicago Bulls will (technically) have two representatives at All-Star Weekend.
The Windy City Bulls announced on Tuesday that Carlik Jones has made the 24-man roster for the “Next Up” game that will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19.
Jones has put together one of the best scoring seasons in the G-League, averaging 20.3 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds over his 19 games played. The six-foot guard has also shot 49.4 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from behind the arc. This strong play is exactly what earned him a two-way contract from the Bulls mid-way through the season, as the Bulls’ front office chose to waive Kostas Antetokounmpo to open up the spot.
The Next Up game will basically serve as the G-league’s All-Star game. Two captains – Luka Garza of the Iowa Wolves and Scoot Henderson of the G-League Ignite – will draft their team from the player pool. G-League head coaches and celebrity assistant coaches will man the sideline. More information and the complete roster can be found here.
Congrats to Carlik! The dude knows how to get buckets, so I look forward to seeing him put on a shot.
Here’s a little reminder of what he can do:
