Tyrese Haliburton Had Some Fun at Patrick Beverley’s Expense After Game-Winner

Chicago Bulls

Tyrese Haliburton made one of the best shots of his young career on Sunday afternoon.

The second-year guard handed the Chicago Bulls their 36th loss of the season on a stone-cold 30-footer over Patrick Beverley. And he wasted no time letting everyone know it was personal.

To avoid any confusion, here’s the timeline of the Haliburton-Beverley beef …

  • Haliburton talked about Beverley on J.J. Redick’s Old Man & The Three podcast and said the following: “He [Beverley] looked at me dead in my eyes and was like, ‘you’re lucky I didn’t guard you tonight. I would have locked that sh*t up.’ I was like what!?”
  • Beverley attributed his strong game against the Pacers in early February (while with the Lakers) to taking Haliburton’s words personally.
  • The Pat Bev Podcast posts a video of Beverley clapping back in the postgame interview with footage of Haliburton’s comments.
  • Haliburton finds that video and re-shares it with the response here

Considering Haliburton finished the day with 29 points, 11 assists, and a game-winner, I think it’s safe to say he earned the right to talk back to Pat Bev. The question now is whether or not Beverley will have anything up his sleeve for the next time these two face off. We all know the Bulls’ guard isn’t one to forget these kinds of things.
