DeMar DeRozan Leaves Wednesday’s Game With Quad Strain (UPDATE)

Chicago Bulls

Well, let’s just make a bad night even worse. With the Bulls trying to stay within 30 points against the 76ers tonight, DeMar DeRozan has exited the game with a right quad strain.

DeRozan departed midway through the 3rd Quarter thanks to the same injury that caused him to miss 4 games earlier this season. DeMar did look a little slow in this one, but then again so did the entire team. There didn’t appear to be a shot to that quad either that may have re-aggravated it.

DeRozan logged 21 minutes on the floor tonight but was 0-7 from the field and scored just 4 points all from the free throw line. Hopefully, cutting his night short was just a result of him feeling a little sore and the game being out of hand, but we’ll learn more from Billy Donovan in the postgame press conference.

After such a fun and important win Monday night in Philly, we certainly seem to be in a “one step forward, two steps back” type of scenario. We’ll update this post after the game as more info comes in.

**UPDATE**

We’re not out of the woods yet, but it does appear the Bulls might have just been being precautionary with DeMar in a blowout. After the game, Zach LaVine told the media that DeRozan told him he was “gonna be alright.”

DeRozan chose not to meet with the media but was seen walking around the locker room without a limp. Hopefully, that means we’ll see him Friday night in Portland.
