The refs decided they weren’t getting enough attention on Sunday afternoon.
In the second quarter during a fantastic start by the Chicago Bulls, the officials in Los Angeles ejected Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls big man fouled LeBron James before throwing his hands in the air and saying something to Sean Corbin. Then, the referee administered Vucevic a technical foul as he walked back toward the Bulls’ bench.
After still talking on the sideline while standing with Bulls’ coaches, the refs proceeded to immediately hand Vucevic another technical foul and throw him out of the game. While it wouldn’t hurt Vucevic to control his emotions a little bit better, there is no world in which Corbin should have been that quick to toss him from the contest.
I mean, seriously, just watch this crap:
WHAT THE F***!?
That is some incredibly soft officiating by Corbin. And, even worse, it only continues a trend of officials letting their emotions get the best of them this season.
Here’s them throwing Terrence Mann out earlier this month in a similar situation …
And here was a bizarre one with Luka Doncic:
I understand that players should watch what they say, but this is still pretty freakin’ ridiculous. Why don’t you give one technical and move on!? Why do you have to try to completely change the trajectory of the game? It’s truly absurd, and I really hope the NBA addresses this at some point before next season.
