Alex Caruso Questionable for Tonight’s Game with Clippers
Despite appearing in the Chicago Bulls’ last two games, Alex Caruso will still enter tonight’s contest with the Los Angeles Clippers as “questionable.”
The latest official injury report has yet to upgrade the Bulls’ best defensive player, as he continues to deal with soreness in his left foot. Caruso played in 25 minutes of action in the Bulls’ victory over the Lakers on Sunday night, scoring 7 points with 5 rebounds and a steal.
Head coach Billy Donovan told reporters earlier this month that Caruso’s foot injury – which has been bothering him for several weeks – will likely be something he deals with for the remainder of the regular season. With that being the case, it probably would make sense for the Bulls to enter most of their remaining regular season games with him designated as “questionable.”
All things considered, that certainly isn’t good news as the Bulls try to cement a Play-In Tournament spot and even move up the Eastern Conference ladder. We all know that this group tends to play their best basketball when Caruso is on the floor, so not knowing what version of him they’ll get each night is worrisome.
The good news is that Caruso did look like himself against the Lakers, drawing two huge offensive fouls on both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But it will be important for us to keep an eye on how he looks later tonight against the Clippers on the backend of a back-to-back. That is, of course, if he does play.
Meanwhile, the Clippers still have Paul George sidelined with a knee injury and Norman Powell listed as out due to a shoulder issue. Kawhi Leonard is probable with a face contusion.
