Famous and controversial TV host Jerry Springer passed away on Thursday.
In the wake of the news surfaced plenty of clips from his hit daytime talk show “The Jerry Spring Show.” One of television’s sick-day staples, the chaotic and Chicago-based series ran from 1991 until 2018. Among the many famous moments now circulating online was the time Benny the Bull took the stage.
Yes, that happened. Why? I guess … why not?
In the clip, a woman and Benny sit across from one another on the iconic stage. The woman calls Benny out for being too busy, ultimately breaking the tragic news that she’s been seeing someone else. Springer then tells the audience it’s time to meet the secret lover, which leads to the giant inflatable Benny (aka Big Ben) running on stage and head-butting Benny.
A fight ensues as the crowd chants the famous “Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!”
You can see the video here:
Man, poor Benny! I’m hoping that he and his inflatable colleague were able to work things out. I also have to imagine the Bulls’ HR got involved after seeing this episode. You can’t have this happening in the workplace!
Anyway, RIP Jerry Springer.
