OH. MY. GOD.
The Boston Celtics were 3.0 seconds away from heading to Cancun, but Derrick White hadn’t booked his ticket just yet. The Celtics had blown their lead over the final minutes of the 4th quarter, putting Miami in a position to seal the series with just 3.0 seconds left. But after Marcus Smart let up a last-second heave from behind the arc off the inbound pass from White, the Celtics’ guard was able to snatch the offensive rebound and nail the game-winning layup at the buzzer.
Initially unclear if he got the shot off in time, a review showed that the ball left White’s hand with 0.1 seconds left.

What made things all the more dramatic was the fact that Al Horford fouled Jimmy Butler behind the arc with 3.0 seconds left to allow Miami to grab the 103-102 lead. Boston truly looked like they had choked the game away, but White saved their a**.
The Celtics will now look to become the first team in NBA history to work their back from a 3-0 deficit. Game 7 will be at the TD Garden on Monday night.
