I’ve had something on the calendar each Sunday since football season began … until today. If you need me, I’ll be creating that seasonal butt indent on my couch and getting approximately 100 steps in.
I think we can forget that the vibes inside the United Center don’t always match those on the outside. In other words, while I know there is a lack of excitement among fans for this upcoming season, I’m sure most people within the Chicago Bulls organization are excited to get back to work. Not only is competition what all these athletes live for, but I’ve never really questioned whether or not this team likes being around each other.
Indeed, the off-court fit has never really been a question. Whether it was after Billy Donovan benched Zach LaVine or reports surfaced about the LaVine-DeRozan conundrum, I never really worried about this locker room getting out of hand. Everyone appears to genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and I think they’re all at least trying to get things back on the right track.
Speaking of which, the Chicago Bulls shared a wonderful video of the team’s recent softball game at Guaranteed Rate Field. I absolutely love that this looked to be an organization-wide event. While the players are obviously featured most heavily in the video below, you can tell that plenty of other Bulls staffers were suited up.
Look, I may not agree with this whole continuity thing, but I do like that the Chicago Bulls are putting in some extra effort to try to make it work. Whether it be a team-wide softball game or the upcoming trip to Nashville – which will mark the first time ever that the Bulls have gone out of state for training camp – they’re clearly looking for ways to keep things fresh. I think we can all agree things became pretty stale darn fast in 2022-23, so perhaps this can help create that extra sense of enthusiasm that’s needed to get through a long season.
Bleacher Report picked one trade that every team should make a month out from the NBA season. And, in typical fashion, I absolutely despise the trade they picked for the Bulls. The site pitched Zach LaVine heading to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for James Harden, Furkan Korkmaz, and a 2029 first-round pick. As I’ve asked every time a LaVine-for-Harden trade has been mocked up, WHY THE HECK WOULD THE BULLS DO THIS!?
While I suppose the Bulls can then flip Harden again for more assets, we all know Harden’s value is minimal. And, heck, if Harden does decide to play out his contract in Chicago to raise his value before free agency, the team is likely going to still be in the Play-In mix. This would mean they aren’t even really improving their 2024 draft stock! Overall, this trade is basically LaVine for Korkmaz and a first-round pick. Disgusting.
B/R even proceeded to comment that LaVine would be one of the NBA’s better “second (or maybe even third, given Maxey’s development) options if playing alongside Embiid. Uh, yeah, so then why are the Bulls accepting an extremely minimal return for his services!? You can’t tell me that Zach LaVine would be a great No. 2 on a contending team but then also tell me he isn’t worth more than salary filler and a 2029 first-round pick.
The Des Moines Register shared quite the story this weekend. The Iowa Treasure’s Office will take hold of several hundred safety deposit boxes that have been abandoned each year. This time around, one of those boxes reportedly contained a freakin’ MICHAEL JORDAN ROOKIE CARD. The institution will always hold an auction with the items found, and they recently sold the card for $5,400. I know that is nothing compared to the price of other Jordan memorabilia, but it’s still a shocking find.
The Chicago Bulls are not going to turn the 2023-24 campaign into a true success. The sooner the organization comes to terms with that, the easier it'll be for them to avoid a completely lost season. After a 7-14 start...
The Chicago Bulls are not built for the playoffs, the Play-In Tournament, or the In-Season Tournament. What a time to be a basketball fan in the Windy City! I give Adam Silver credit. The In-Season Tournament action thus far has...

With 4:44 left in the Chicago Bulls' battle with the New Orleans Pelicans, the United Center crowd let out a chant not many expected to hear this season. It wasn't for Zach LaVine. It wasn't for DeMar DeRozan. It wasn't...

Tyler Glasnow made a ton of sense as an addition for the Cubs in conjunction with Shohei Ohtani in part because of the whole Ohtani-can't-pitch-in-2024 thing, in tandem with the Glasnow-is-under-contract-for-only-2024 thing. Fun to think about the combo. But even...
