After leaving Wednesday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Tyler Herro has gotten some bad news.
The Miami Heat guard will miss multiple weeks with an ankle injury, per the team. He’ll need to be in a walking boot for 10 days before they can re-evaluate him in two weeks. And, considering it’s just a re-evaluation, it’s unclear how much additional time Herro might need to rehab after that.
INJURY UPDATE: Tyler Herro has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 ankle sprain. He will be in a walking boot for 10 days and will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.
We will have a better idea of his return to play after 2 week re-evaluation.— Miami HEAT (@MiamiHEAT) November 9, 2023
Averaging a career-high 22.9 points to begin the year on 41.0 percent shooting from downtown, Tyler Herro is one of Miami’s most consistent offensive weapons. The team has already struggled out of the gate to the tune of a 4-4 record with a 26th offensive rating.
We should also note that the Chicago Bulls are set to play Miami in a mini-series that begins next week. The first game will come on Nov. 18 before they match up again two days later. Both games will also be at the United Center. For a Bulls team that is desperately trying to get back on track before a grueling December schedule, taking advantage of this Tyler Herro-less Heat team might be a must.
