What To Watch For

  • While the Bulls aren’t totally healthy for this one, they do seem to be in better shape than Charlotte. We unfortunately won’t be treated to a Ball vs Ball matchup in tonight’s game as LaMelo will miss this one with a calf injury. That would have been fun to watch. But after the nice long layoff, Chicago is still dealing with some lingering health issues. However, outside of Patrick Williams, nothing seems to be too much of a long-term issue on the Bulls’ injury report.

  • I’ll be fascinated to see how Chicago comes out in this one. They haven’t played since Sunday which means they’ve had a nice four full days without a game. In theory, you would think they will be rested and ready to run and play an up-tempo game. This matchup against Charlotte should be a nice case of rest or rust. With the Hornets as banged up as they are, this feels like a game that if Chicago shows up ready from the word go they should be able to come away with a win.

  • Eli had a great post today about Matas Buzelis beginning to win over Billy Donovan and I absolutely love to hear it. Donovan is a veteran coach who at times can take an old school approach to using rookies. He makes them earn their playing time, and there isn’t anything wrong as that so long as you actually give them a fair shot to earn minutes. Donovan has done that with the rookie forward, and Buzelis has impressed quite a bit. It feels like Chicago has something here with Buzelis, and the fact that he has already won over Billy Donovan is another positive indicator of that.
