Is 2025 the Year of the Ball Brothers?
LaMelo leads all Eastern Conference guards in All-Star voting, Lonzo just recorded his first start since 2022 after a harrowing comeback, and LiAngelo Ball has just earned himself a seven-figure record deal.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN and iHeartRadio’s The Breakfast Club, LiAngelo has inked a deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group. The contract is worth $8.0 million and could reach as high as $13.0 million, giving LiAngelo his own record label and full ownership of his music.
LiAngelo Ball Signs Record Deal
The middle Ball brother took the sports world by storm with the recent release of his track “Tweaker.” For the last week-plus, the song has been a mainstay over social media. Athletes across the sports world have been blasting the song in the locker rooms and in pre-game warm-ups. Honestly, if you haven’t heard it by now, I’d be shocked!
While it’s hard to believe that LiAngelo’s next track will garner as much attention, there is no question he now has the resources behind him. Lonzo Ball has teased on his X account in recent days that more music will be on the way from his brother soon.
So could this mean the official end of LiAngelo Ball the hooper? The 26-year-old has tried to fight his way onto an NBA roster numerous times in the past. After a stint overseas and in his father’s short-lived junior basketball league, LiAngelo had brief stints with the OKC Blue, the Detroit Pistons in training camp, and the Greensboro Swarm. He struggled to take advantage of those opportunities and has remained on the outside of the NBA looking in since 2022.
