What To Watch For
- Tonight will be the first time since November 29, 2021, that Lonzo and LaMelo Ball have played against each other in an NBA game. These two teams have played twice already this season but LaMelo has been out due to injury for both of them. It should be a pretty cool night for them to get to share the court again for the first time in over three years given the injuries that Lozno has been through. I know we’ve said it so many times, but it’s just so impressive the level that Lonzo is playing at after what he’s been through. He really looks like he hasn’t missed a beat and the fact that his workload keeps being added to speaks to how healthy he feels.
- As for the rest of this Bulls team, unfortunately, there’s not a ton of positives to talk about. They’ve lost three of their last four including two in a row to the Pelicans who are a bottom-three team in the league and the Hawks who were without several starters and contributors. While it’s frustrating to watch on the court night in and night out, this team beginning to fall off as we approach the trade deadline is probably not the worst thing in the world. It should, in theory, push Arturas Karnisovas toward the direction of selling instead of again being tricked into thinking this team can make a run.
- Matas Buzelis had 8 points and 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 17 minutes on 4-8 shooting in the loss against the Hawks. Patrick Williams had 10 points and 2 rebounds in 25 minutes of play against the Hawks. Those two really should start having similar minute totals as long as their production, effort, and energy continue to trend in the direction they are. Play Matas Buzelis more!
