What To Watch For …
- Even if Trayce Jackson-Davis is available tonight, Nikola Vucevic should have the upper hand heading into this matchup. He will easily be the best big man on the court and should be able to overpower the Warriors down low. While this group is decently good at limited points in the paint, they lack the true size and physicality to disrupt Vucevic, especially with Draymond Green out of the lineup. More on how well Nikola Vucevic has played against the Warriors in the past …
- Despite the presence of Stephen Curry – who is questionable tonight – the Warriors’ offense can leave a lot to be desired. They hold just the 22nd-ranked effective field goal percentage in the NBA this season (52.9 percent) and average just 110.9 points per game, which also ranks in the league’s bottom 10. While they are a disciplined team that can capitalize off turnovers and second-chance points, they aren’t necessarily going to carve you up off the dribble or feast in the paint. This is a game the Bulls can win with their offensive versatility. Move the ball, play fast, and attack in transition. Especially when we consider Golden State is playing on tired legs, the Bulls have an opportunity to dominate with their scoring efficiency.
- With all of that said, the Warriors have always moved the ball tremendously well. They hold the league’s second-highest assist percentage in the league. A big reason the Bulls allow the single-most point in the paint is because of their repeated defensive breakdowns that let up wide-open straight-line drives and easy cuts to the rim. Again, the Warriors may not be the most explosive offense this season, but they will pound cutting lanes and nail their open jumpers. If the Bulls’ defense can even be average tonight, then their offense may be enough to win it.
