We had a big slate around the Association last night, and with that came some pretty epic NBA highlights! Some were brought to us by the league’s biggest stars, while a few others came from some unlikely sources.
Let’s take a look at some of those top moments from Wednesday night’s action!
NBA Highlights – January 29, 2025
- We’ll start things off in Indiana with none other than Tyrese Haliburton. Midway through the first quarter of last night’s contest against the Pistons, Haliburton had the ball up top. After picking up his dribble and pivoting to the right around Tobias Harris, instead of dishing the ball to a covered teammate or firing an off-balance shot, Haliburton whipped the ball off the backboard and cut to the hole for his own rebound and finish. You have to love the creativity!

- Let’s stick with the same game and look at Haliburton’s teammate, Aaron Nesmith. Early in the fourth quarter with Indiana holding a slim six-point lead, Cade Cunningham found Malik Beasley with a slick bounce pass ahead on the break. Instead of finishing with a two-handed jam, Nesmith flew in from behind the play and absolutely rejected Beasley’s dunk attempt.

- Not as fun of a highlight, in the second quarter of last night’s game, Isaiah Stewert earned a flagrant foul 2 for a dirty play on Thomas Bryant. As Bryant went for an offensive rebound, Stewart slid himself away from the bucket, wound up, shouldered Bryant to the ground, and extended his arms to finish the foul. Pretty much a textbook of flagrant foul and ejection! The Pacers went on to win the game 133-119.

- It’s been tough sledding for the Golden State Warriors in recent weeks, but last night they upset the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-109 and gave us one of the best dunks of the season. Late in the fourth quarter with a 7-point lead, Dennis Schroder drove the lane and found a cutting Gary Payton II with a perfect pass on the baseline. Payton II took the pass and delivered a poster of a one-handed dunk over Isaiah Hartenstein. It was a much-needed win for Golden State with an epic exclamation point provided by Gary Payton II!
OH MY GOODNESS GARY PAYTON II 🤯🤯

- While the Warriors have hit a rough patch, the Wizards have been near rock bottom all season long with just six wins on the season. While they dropped to 6-40 last night after a blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors, the fans were at least given a fun moment by their veteran. Early in the second quarter, Kyle Kuzma was leading a fast break. As he got near the elbow, a defender reached in and Kuzma appeared to try and draw a shooting foul. When he realized he didn’t get the call, he found himself off-balance at the baseline behind the backboard. With no real passing option available, Kuzma heaved a leaning shot over the backboard and into the hoop. The game never really got close, but at least we got that fun moment.

- This next highlight doesn’t really need much of an introduction. Anthony Edwards is one of the most electrifying players in the NBA today, and he gave us yet another sick highlight against the Suns. After Julius Randle picked off a lazy pass, he took off on a fast break, and found a wide-open Anthony Edwards going full-steam ahead. You can guess what happened next.

- In the very same game, while Bradley Beal was waiting to inbound the ball in front of the Timberwolves bench, Minnesota’s head coach Chris Finch was arguing with the official. Whatever he said didn’t go over too well! It earned Finch his second technical foul of the night and an ejection. The T’Wolves’ bench boss got so heated that Anthony Edwards had to actually come and hold him back a bit.

- Let’s finish things off with an old-fashioned alley-oop, shall we?! The Pelicans have had a tough season thus far with only 12 wins, and they suffered a heartbreaking 137-136 loss to Dallas last night in a very fun contest. While they didn’t get the win, the Pelicans did give the home crowd something to cheer about. In the second quarter, Dejounte Murray found Trey Murphy III for an epic windmill alley-oop. Murphy III had an awesome game dropping 32 points but it wasn’t enough to give the home team the win.
TREY MURPHY MY GOODNESS. 🔥
