What To Watch For
- One more game for the Bulls without Zach LaVine. He was downgraded from doubtful to out. He’s expected to be back on Tuesday when the Bulls play the Heat, though. With his name starting to resurface a bit in trade rumors, I’m not shocked that he’s getting a little extra time off. He gets to be with his wife as they welcome another child into the world, and the front office gets to make sure he stays healthy prior to the trade deadline. It’s a win-win.
- Without Zach, the Bulls played pretty well the other night in Toronto against a Raptors team that had been playing pretty well as of late. Coby White had one of his better games in a while, and the bench was outstanding with all four reserves scoring in double figures. Whether or not LaVine gets dealt at the deadline, it would be really nice to see performances like that the rest of the way from the role players.
- Matas Buzelis was again really good against Toronto and is starting to stand out more and more as the season goes on. He’s clearly developing in front of our eyes and it’s so fun to watch. Offensively, he’s playing confidently and intelligently. Defensively, his instincts get better with every game. I’m really glad Billy Donovan has started to give him more regular minutes. Not only is it good for his development, but he’s absolutely earning them too instead of just being gifted them.
